Idiake Irumundomon

Idiake (Dee) Irumundomon is  an MPH grad student at Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health on the Public Health Policy and Management Track. Dee was born and raised in Long Beach, California but now considers himself  a decently acquainted Chicagoan. Dee has had several internships throughout my undergraduate years revolving around community interventions and impact. With hopes of attaining a job that influences policy in the future, involvement within the community and its members is essential to understanding the crucial areas for change. Dee is excited to continue my work with Loyola Stands as the committee works to address and create spaces for others to learn about the effects of gun violence and enforce change.


Tijana Nikolic

Tijana Nikolic is an MPH graduate student with Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health. Born in Belgrade, Serbia, and transplanted to the vibrant city of Chicago at the age of six, Tijana brings a blend of cultural insight and resilience to her academic and professional endeavors. With a diverse background in various management and administrative positions through the University of Chicago and Buckingham Nursing Homes, she has delved into the intricacies of policies and organizational structures. Her hands-on experience has provided her with a profound understanding of how these mechanisms impact communities and individuals. Coming from a developing country, she has always harbored a deep-seated passion for helping others and promoting service and advocacy on a global scale. Her belief in the transformative power of community partnerships and relations is a guiding principle in her mission to address societal challenges.


Elizabeth DeLoreto

Liz DeLoreto is currently pursuing her Master’s in Public Health at Parkinson’s School of Public Health and Health Sciences on the public policy and management track. Liz is originally from Connecticut but has lived in Chicago for the past five years. During her time here, she has dedicated herself to multiple nonprofit organizations which provide equitable care and resources to community members. Liz is especially passionate about supporting women’s health through education and legislative change. She intends to devote her career to ensuring all people have an equal opportunity to achieve their full health potential. Liz is excited to join Loyola Stands Against Gun Violence as a graduate fellow to support both the Maywood and Loyola community.


Gabriela Fuentes

Gabriela Fuentes is a MD-MPH student in the final year of her dual degree program, with deep roots in the Berwyn/Cicero area. Her journey to this program was driven by her passion for serving underserved populations and fostering positive change within her community. Gabriela’s commitment to service and advocacy for her community is exemplified through her previous work. Gabriela served for two years as an executive board member for the Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program, a program aimed at attracting underrepresented high school students to pursue careers in the health professions. As Vice President of the Medical Student Union, Gabriela worked with MSU board members to create the CASCADE leadership program.

The CASCADE leadership program is a four-year program aimed at building leaders who can cultivate sustainable partnerships within their medical school and local communities. Gabriela also worked for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Intern. Gabriela’s work with the ACGME provided her insights into the intersection of diversity initiatives and equitable patient outcomes in the medical field. As demonstrated by her previous work, Gabriela aims to be a champion for diversity, equity, and mentorship. As a Loyola Stands Fellow, Gabriela is interested in exploring the intersection between gun violence and mental health. Ultimately, Gabriela is excited to begin working with the Loyola Stands organization to create safer communities through awareness, education, advocacy, and action.


Zachary Wilder

Zach Wilder is a Graduate Fellow with Loyola Stands Against Gun Violence. Having previously worked on the legislative teams for the offices of U.S. Representative’s Lauren Underwood and Jan Schakowsky, Zach has a passion for affecting health issues through the language of policymaking. He believes that empowering our community with the necessary knowledge and resources will be vital to the passage of common sense gun violence prevention laws. In doing so, we can make our friends, family, and neighborhoods safer from gun violence. Zach is currently pursuing his Master’s in Public Health at the Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health.
